I guess I can't make too much of the temperature - this isn't Arizona, after all - but it sure felt toasty the last couple of days. Had trouble finding where the bass were hiding, but eventually found a few hanging out under small, isolated patches of lily pads out in the lake. Got one with an underspin swim bait, another two with wacky worms, and the last (and the biggest at 4 1/2 lbs.) with a craw rigged weedless dropped off the edge of the pads. Also caught a few decent pickerel, crappie, and yellow perch.

Nice catching Don. You got some real chunky girls there. I'm glad you found some who wanted to play, it makes the heat easier to tolerate.

Those are all big fish. Don’t know if it’s cool to ask, but which lake? I’m in Ithaca at the bottom of Cayuga Lake.

Black Lake in Bethel, NY - private, about 225 acres, just outside White Lake. By the way, I'm a Cornell grad, know Ithaca well (or at least, I used to). Never did any fishing in Cayuga Lake, but wish I had.
