Pretty hot one today(93 as we speak) but less humidity than predicted . Got out for a bit and caught 13 or 14 crappies in the 8-9” range on pretty much consecutive casts when a school came through on 3” Keitechs. Moved after that action died and came upon a few better ones in the 11-12 inch range. Came upon these snappers having a wrestling bout, over what I’m not sure. Possibly a mating ritual or fight over food. Fun day.

Nice Brad
What color Keitech do you normally use? Do you find Keitech a little on the fragile side?.
The ones I used caught fish but seemed to tear easily 👍🎣

93° here heat index 99°.
Even my pup doesn't want out more than a few minutes 👍

Thanks for the info Griz!

I did see the swimming beach was closed prior to July 4th, then the daily lake bacteria level test came in under the closure limit and the swimming area was open for July 4th . The swim area was open yesterday when I went by it, but the temps are going to be in the 90s for a while, so, we’ll see how it goes.

Thanks Fred, those snappers were really going at it for quite a while. Have never seen that before, it was pretty wild.

Grizz, to say they’re delicate is an understatement. I always super glue them to the jig heads but that doesn’t much help for the gills nipping off the tails. My favorite color is sun gill but I’ll switch it up if that’s not producing. Our dog Bowmen doesn’t much care for this heat either although the humidity was much less than predicted.

Actually the humidity today was not what expected. Hot for sure but still tolerable plumb.
