You are in some great fishing country. Don't forget to head up to June Lake Loop

When you go through Bishop, stop at the beef jerky store on the main road(395) and get some great jerky and across the street is a bakery that has killer homemade bread! It's been a few years, but I bet there still there. Good luck brother.

Go out East Line Street and fish Bishop Creek, and Intake 2. If the heat gets ya, continue up the road and fish Sabrina Lake.
In need of fishing gear, stop by Mac's on Main Street in Bishop. They'll tell you what the fish are hitting on. Worms for East Line Street and crickets if you go and fish the Owen's River out West Line Street. Have fun and enjoy your time away from the crowds

The jerkey place is on the way out of town( going towards Mammoth) on your right hand side just pass the shopping center on your right. About 2 miles from the fair grounds.
The bakery is called Erick "Schat's" bakery, 763 N. Main Street, Bishop. If their parking lot is packed, park across the street at the park.

Mahogany smoked meats is the jerky place. Be sure to buy some double smoked bacon. A salmon egg hook with a salmon egg on it catches almost anything there. It's really effective in the streams. Good catching!

The best trophy trout fishing in the area, by far, in my experience are the lakes in Mammoth.

Well my opinion is go to utah instead of the Sierra. The eastern Sierra is drop dead gorgeous, but in my opinion the fishing is not what it used to be. Very sad.
