So 7 days before the NE Meet and Greet a golden opportunity presented it self to me. A friend was selling his 18ft Lund with a 40HP Mercury. I learned to duck hunt with his step dad out of this boat and was out on it a ton 20 years ago. He needed it out of his yard and weโ€™ve been friend since college. I got a great deal on it and was able to sell my boat to my buddy Kyle. I passed it along to him at a more than fair price. Heโ€™s already been out there fishing my marks and catching fish!

I knew she would need some TLC and I only had 7 days before I was to leave for the M&G. My apprentice and I knocked her out in about 100 man hrs.
* Removed all the wood and replaced it. Used regular sandy ply but I painted it with 2 coats of deck over paint on all surfaces then covered the tops with EPDM or roll roofing.
* Rebuilt the entire front deck and bow pieces.
* Replaced the minnkota trolling motor it came with my Terrova from my old boat. Installed the one from the new boat on my old one for Kyle.
* Installed a 3rd battery in the bow for the trolling motor.
* Installed LED lights through out. Even put I light in the bow compartment.
* Changed the lower unit oil.
* Cleaned carbs.
* Installed new plugs.
* Re did the trailer lights.
* Built small flat decks between the seats for easy standing. Used all cellular PVC boards for the small spots.
* Installed seat mounts for 4 seats.
* A much much more!

The boat was ready with 2 days to spare except for the 40Hp motor. I tried but couldnโ€™t get her going. I knew I could run 100% electric and be fine for the fishing I was planning to do at the meet and greet. So I threw the 8hp from my old boat on for emergency use and headed to PA. We had a great time and itโ€™s well documented. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฆ…

Since Iโ€™ve been home Iโ€™ve been busy and hadnโ€™t had time to mess with the boat. Yesterday I was able to take apart the fuel lines, carburetors, etc and clean it all with B-12 Chemtool. I put everything together. Put the muffs on, hit her with a little starting fluid and I had her started in a couple minutes!!! Took her out this morning to knock the dust out, started right up and she ran great!!

Very excited to have this new much more Lake Erie worthy boat!! Those eyes canโ€™t hide from me now and I can easily take a couple people along.๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ

Great job on the boat. I'm a little jealous because we're in week 4 of not having a boat after I ruined the old Johnson. Tomorrow we'll be looking at another old boat. Won't know if it's a keeper or not until I see it.

Looks good J! You did a lot of work in a short time; you know your stuff and got it done!

It looks large, with plenty of room, and I would think you will get an improved-more stable ride on Erie. That lake is huge, and it would take a very big boat to have it very stable.

I like your rod holders too and, in the video, youโ€™re moving along pretty good.

Thanks for sharing.
