My wife and I got out twice last week for perch. Fishing my usual spot at the harbor mouth near the Cuyahoga River, just off the Western lighthouse.

The first trip was Tuesday. We hit the 58 degree water at about 5:15 and were at the spot by 5:30. Took us about 20 min catch our first then caught them pretty steady until we headed in at 7:30. It was a cool day and my better half had cold hands. Left them biting heavy another 45 min and we could have had our 10 each easily. Ended up with 13 yellow perch most in the 10-11 inch range.

Headed out Friday hit the water at the same time as Tuesday. Caught 16 yellow perch one white bass and a 3lb + Sheephead. In 2:45 min. Would have stayed to get our limits but we ran out of shiners. Tried AndyS’s gulp minnows but didn’t have any luck with them. The Sheephead was a blast on the ultra light rod. He swam away to annoy some walleye fisherman another day.🤣😂🤣

Really getting the hang of my new electric filet knife. Really increased my speed and efficiency when fileting.

My wife with her first perch of the year.

Friday was a blue ribbon day, really nice weather!

Sheephead are a blast to catch on lite gear. But not something I take home.

Nice catching J and Mrs J. Tuesday does look a little uncomfortable. Friday looks much better. Beautiful Perch and the Sheephead looks like fun on an ultralight. I've got the same SS hook remover, that I used on Bluefish back in the day. Thanks for sharing your trips brother.
