They also made a 308 along with a 309. Same configuration except one is left hand and the other is right handed. I use them on my light an ultra light rods.

I see them at yard sales unfortunately I would need the 301. I still have one about 40 years old but don’t use much cause I became spoiled by lighter smoother skirted spool models. None of those will last as long as a 300 though.

Mitchell 300 I was 12 years old when I got mine and I'm now 68 it was my first spinning reel but didn't get to try it out for a year after I got it at the time my dad was stationed in Germany and the family was there with him, I spoiled it up with 10 pound test on a 6' 5" rod, had some good times catching fish once we got back to Minnesota, buy the one thing I remember about that reel was how loud it was the clicking as you wound it I, a good beginner reel. I used this as a kid in the 60's for saltwater & freshwater. I liked it so much I bought the new Mitchell 300 pro which I catch bass on. Should last a lifetime if you keep it up.

That is the spinning real to fish with many years ago. I do not know if I found one that I would fish it. Many of the older fisher persons got one for Christmas or birthday and was a very big deal.

I have a 300 and 308 which have been sitting in the basement for the last 20 years plus. These posts want me to pull them out give them a good cleaning and set them up on appropriate rods and do some classic old school fishing this fall.

It looks like a Mitchell 300 very good reels I put it on at least a 7 foot medium
