I would say try smaller hooks and work your way up . For me it was the same when I first started . I started with a bobber and a hook and made adjustments from there to see what they bit and didn’t . Also don’t be fixed on one spot only because fish act different everywhere

Ok guys i hate to admit it but sometimes I go out a few times in a row and get skunked. It sucks but that’s what fishing is all about. As said before it’s called fishing not catching. This is especially frustrating when you have a limited time to fish. This being said tomorrow morning I am getting up early and fishing from my kayak pescador perception 10’ and I’m going to fish my ass off. Three rods all rigged for different situations. I’ll catch or I won’t. Either way I’m gonna be out doing what I love to do. Good luck and tight lines!!

Hmmm, did you check the moon phase when you fished those days. If it happens that it was a full moon, then the fish don’t bite at all. If you happen to catch one fish that day consider it a success.
I can count the number of days I caught fish on a full moon day - that is zero.
Apparently fish feed at night instead,
Good luck fishing . . Wildfish

Fishing is not for the impatient or weak-minded. If you are either or both, take up street drag racing. In the meantime, turn every fishing outing into a learning experience. Keep a record of the times, places, weather conditions and tides (salt water). Look for patterns on the days you catch fish and patterns on days you don't. Apply that new knowledge. Go fishing, not just casting or drowning worms. Experience is the great teacher, if you pay attention. So, pay attention.

Actually bass eat crawfish because they hate them. Crawfish eat Bass eggs therefore Bass eat the crawfish to protect their offspring. Bass will also eat baby ducks.

This time of year and with this heat (Texas) "night time is the right time". We've been fishing night tournaments to beat the heat and bass don't mind that either. Go early and late. Nap in the afternoon. Go to deeper water(cooler) or windblown banks and points where water is oxygenated and baitfish are blown to the bank. Bass will follow them. Also slow down your presentation. Hot bass and cold bass are sometimes sluggish. Like one guy said, change up your reel speed, cadence etc. If the water looks "fishy" keep throwing to it. Sometimes you need to tick 'em off to get a reaction bite.

5 places no fish... what's the common denominator? Cause there is one... Depth? Cover? Is the vegitation dying off! If they're not hitting shallow go deep, if the weeds are dying they're depleting oxygen so the fish will leave, find wood and rocks.... doing the same thing at 5 spots in an area will have the same results... good luck!

First mistake I seen reading these posts is you are not open to other options. What you think is right is actually wrong. Bass do love crayfish along with everything else. Top go to bait early in the year for bass is a crawfish imitating bait. Do your homework. Pick one species to go after and stick to it. Water temp plays a huge roll along with the moon. Look up peak times for activity.

Been there done that but not giving up. I am sure I will eventually hook something then the chain of no fish will be broken. There are to many fish being caught by to many fisherman to make me think I am wasting my time. Just have to find the right day, the right time and the right location.
