Looking forward to the interaction with everyone. I fish out of OC Maryland. Started some bottom fishing in the ocean last fall and gearing up for some tuna fishing soon.

Welcome to the fishingstage Steve I think lots of people on here are retired and fish a lot and I'v been enjoying this forum for a while now and have made lots of friends on here, I can't help you with fishing your area but lots of the guys and gals will be able to help. Steve, welcome aboard. The tuna fishing you mention should be a good time!

OC has good fishing. Fall is a good time to catch Tautog from 2nd to 4th street bulkhead, on the bayside, don’t need a license to fish there, also good from the surf. Fall and spring are good times for Striped Bass in the bay and in the surf.

I usually fish in OC a few weeks a year in Jul-Aug combining it with family and friend’s vacation. In the past we caught over 100+ fish, of many species, the biggest fish being a 36” Stingray measured from wing tip to tip. We were fishing from the bulkhead that runs from 2nd to 4th on the bayside.

Have been fishing the surf around 56th street for the past few years, caught many fish and different species, an Eagle Ray measuring 51”s and sharks to mention a few.

Have been out on head boats, not many caught those days, but had good Blues catching a few years ago out on a boat that held four of us plus a captain and mate, was out around 10 miles.

You should consider joining the ocean pines anglers club. Great resource for fishing info and meeting fellow anglers. They meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Library, 9:30…. Meeting this coming Saturday.

If nothing else free coffee and donuts, and always a good local guest speaker.

FYI, you do not need to be a member to attend!!!

Hi Steve, Looking forward to your OC Md. reports and pictures. Do you ever fish for Flounder? Flounder became my favorite fish to catch when I lived in FL.
