Fishing 9 acre pond. Once in a while somebody catches a slab crappie. I fail everytime I try. Have managed to catch catfish but no crappie. These other guys only catch one at a time not multiples in one day but when they do it's a monster.

Welcome to the Forum, Squeak, hang in there, your day is coming.
What kind of structure does the pond have? If there is any dead wood/brush piles or logs you can find, I would concentrate on those areas. Use 2-4 lb.line on a very light rod. Crappie sized (very small) tube baits, curly tail grubs, under a small bobber (vary the depth) should catch them if they're around. Road Runners jigs are also very good for catching Crappie when cast and retrieved.very slowly.
Colors ca vary, but I've always had very good luck with yellows, whites, reds, blacks, or combinations of those colors.
Good luck
Well there is no cover to speak of. Pond is old dont know how many crappie are left they must not repopulate or there would be small ones. I thought about trying to make a honey hole with combination of PVC and tree branches in about 10ft of water to increase my odds and may even stock some more crappie.
Anybody ever have any luck using your own structure like that. There is also a lot of perch in pond with two boat docks but if u cast under one of those u will have a perch in bout a second or two. I tried using baby perch at night under lights and caught bigger perch.
You can add structure to a pond by using a Christmas tree, a bag of concrete and a 5 gallon bucket (from Home Depot etc...) drop it in a deeper hole in the pond (5 - 10 feet). The fish will find it and you only need to remember where it is. I agree with the Roadrunners and color selection and also recommend Beetle Spin with similar colors. Blessings to you and tight lines to all!
Cool thanks for the advice fellas. Let u know how it goes.
Adding structure like brush piles or Xmas trees as described will be a big plus for the fish in the pond.
Do you know if there are any bass in the pond?
Once was years ago. Nobody has caught any in recent years. I have capability of putting some in there. Bass pond nearby that is loaded up with em. I am looking to establish crappiefishing here. That bass pond is a blast generally catch half dozen 2lbs each time you go out once caught 5lb. I always throw fish back in also. If I can get crappie going probably have to keep some or they can overpopulate or so I read.

They can overpopulate. There is a pond near me just loaded with Crappies, but they never get to keeper size (8”) because too many are competing for the food source.
Like other guys said try different colors even live bait ( minnows) or panfish spinners try what you can. You will score good luck dont give up.
Was wondering where to buy some crappie to stock pond, when is best time to do it ??

If it’s legal where you are, catch from an overpopulated pond and release where you want to establish them. Win-win.
