Just recently moved to Crestview Florida, I like to fish but don't have a boat. Anyone have any ideas on where a guy can fish. I like to fish for about anything or willing to try.

Navare Beach. the pier goes out 1500 feet. about 150 feet from the gulf stream. Nice King Mackrale fish from the end. East of Pensacola about 20 miles East if i remember.

Welcome to the forum bossman. Your location brings back a lot of memories from the Destin area. Former AF vet knew the area well back in the 70's. Went back a few years ago just for a sight seeing trip and still many wharfs down that way that the locals can most likely hook you up. Good Luck

Hi bossman. What kind of fishing do you like? I'm totally freshwater except for snatching mullet. I live over here north of Milligan, right next door. I spent 5 years bream fishing, then went to crappie. Now I'm into bass. Grew up here in Baker so I've fished about all the rivers and lakes in the area. So if you need any ideas where to fresh water fish just holler.

Greetings boatmaster53, I have never really done much salt water fishing did go out on gulf once on a charter boat and had a good time.
I have river fished a lot did a lot of cat fishing in Oklahoma, used to do a lot of pond hoping for bass, crappie, bluegill. Don’t have a boat so would like to find some spots I can get to on foot, but I do like to know where I am and that were I am is legal to be fishing so I am open to any thoughts. I am retired so I have the time to invest in it.

bossman first thing I would do if I were you, I'd go down to the tower in Niceville and get me a Eglin fishing permit. There is a bunch of lakes between Crestview and Niceville to fish. Some even have docks for handy cap people to fish from. You can bank fish any of them as far as I know. Their map would tell you other wise. As far as the river goes I'd have to show you on them. Most all our river if you can get to them you can fish anywhere but private property. Back when I was young, I loved to wade and fish Blackwater River. We also have two state lakes in the north end you can walk around and fish. Someday we need to meet at Mickey D's and have a cup of coffee and I'll bring some maps and I'll show you more on their locations.

Boatmaster53, I just got my Eglin fishing pass a couple weeks ago. I have went out to duck pond a couple times, haven’t caught anything there yet but will try again. Coffee sounds good just let me know a date and time and I will meet you at Mc Ds
