Problem is the 3ft that is clear is where the 200ft maple was and the trunk roots run the whole way @10in down. I may in the long run go at the roots with a pick axe to make deeper but I have a concert tonight [don't want arms shaking holding the horn] and the babies need planting before the roots dry out.
Made plans with West Orang tree guy to plant some in a park tomorrow but I'm going to put a crepe myrtle in this hole anyway, just to get it sprouting. Hope for the best!

A great thought Plum. Frequently kinda hard to trim back but we should all at least try to do it occasionally. PS, I will try to catch up with daily posts now that I am back in the USA.
