This holiday weekend I would like to encourage everyone to express your gratitude to our state park workers for their part in making your weekend special. My example is our applauding these men as they installed the new dock at the Dead Horse campground at Sherman Reservoir. Even those who clean the outhouses need a thanks from us, so to all our park employees we say THANKS!!

We don’t realize how much behind the scenes work goes on for us to enjoy ourselves. Great idea to thank the workers. I always make a point to thank the ladies who do the coffee and donuts at church.

I live in a small state with lots of small state parks, and they do a good job keeping them up. I certainly am appreciative.

One Summer my brothers and I were running a trotline catching bunches of spawning channel catfish, we were camping, big campfire going..no one was there but we three brothers and the lone ranger up in his hut. I filleted some and pan fried a batch, baked potatoes and slaw we made fresh. I took him a big plate of food. He almost cried, nobody ever brings me food y'all are nice fellas. We've taken fish to our bait house friends, an elderly couple living and working in the same building fish. I like blessing those who serve me.

To the young man who shared his catch, that's a very generous and thoughtful thing to do, sharing your catch like that. Keep up that way of showing charity to others. I'm sure you get more from it than them.

Jesus started it, I've been down sick, had back surgeries that kept me from fishing or getting out of bed for months. Yes Jesus took a boy's sack lunch and fed the 5,000+ so I consider catching fish as almost a religious experience with a full live well.
