Fished Cobboseecontee for several years in the late 90's and early 2000's. Fished for bass (both largemouth and smallmouth) - caught an occasional brown trout by accident. Decent bass fishing, although we did better on largemouth ((disappointingly) than we did on smallmouth. Fished this time of year around the three dropoffs and the islands. Pretty easy to navigate without a lot of nasty surprises, unlike a lot of more northern glacial Maine lakes. Not sure if this was much help, but ENJOY your stay and GOOD LUCK!

Hi, I have only fished the east/south area. Been fishing there since the 70s. I have had the best luck with largemouth/smallmouth close to shore with vegetation under tree shade. Both simple spinners and surface plugs will work depending on the conditions. But I have also caught them around rock ledges- when they are hungry they will go after lots lures at different times though more active at dusk. The lake is warming earlier in the last few years & may affect your plans. Enjoy- it is a wonderful lake!

Took my grandsons (2 & 4) fishing there today. Beautiful day and wonderful time even though they weren’t biting. We had fun!
