Good pics and a good day looks like it Mickey. Have you ever had snapper turtle or snake encounters while belly boating?

It was a good day Plum!
A few snakes & lots of snapping turtles later in the season when I’m “wet-floating” without the flyweight waders. They pretty much leave you alone. The worst are the Beavers 🦫, very territorial and are not too happy when you are in their area! The stealthy critters swim under the surface & loudly slap their paddle tail on the water - scared the CRAP outta me!!!

Didn't see that Chuck. Saw something briefly this morning on F&F about a shark attack, but wasn't paying much attention while fixing breakfast.

Made me think a little more about going to some places where I use my kayak next to a deep channel that has lots of bull shark around there didn't
think much about it until I seen that video. Hope you have a great day today 🎣🎣

Sounds like I will take a pass on putting my legs in the water. Encountered mostly otters in NC they can be a little chatty when I was in their area. Occasional snakes warranted keeping hand above the water line.

In NC we had a shark every now and than find their way up the Pamlico and venture into the tributaries. But never heard of an attack.

However, the thought was always there to be careful and never ever keep the catch on a stringer.

With all the umpiring this spring (41 games since April), my good friend & fishing buddy Larry and I took a day off for a hike up into a small lake in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
We had a pretty good morning fly fishing out of our Belly Boats. No Lunkers, but twenty-nine, 10-12” rainbows kept us busy on our 4 wts with 5x tippet.
We had the pond to ourselves with only a few hikers & dog walkers along the shoreline. A long overdue & relaxing 😎 morning!

Nice Catching guys !!🤙 Beautiful pics Mickey 🤙👍

What's that noise? How far is it to the bank??

No guts no glory!! I have been fishing a belly boat sinse the mid 60's when I made my own out of a tire tube and commercial fish net. I always wore a life jacket and used std. diving fins. I liked the diving fins better than the tube fins. They make swimming home easier. It's like everything else. Use common sense. Oops sorry! I forgot that was in short supply these days. Just poking a bit of fun with a safety reminder your way. Your response was very funny.

Thanks Fred! Yes, it’s always a lot of fun & this morning float on the water was long overdue.
Taking pictures in the belly boat is always a risky venture. I’ve already dunked, soaked & replaced 2 phones!

It sounds like you need a GoPro. and a bigger tube

Just a side note after reading some posts. I tubed in Maine, Alaska, California and Washington. There were no snakes or gators. I did unintentionally sneak up on a beaver or two.

Wow, I can see why Mickey likes that lake. So beautiful, and peaceful looking. I am smiling and breathing easy just seeing the pictures. Is it always so nice and " lonely " there? I'm guessin' there's no launch point.

Ha!
Father’s Day is around the corner…
I might want to check out those “diver fins” - any kind you can recommend bapa?

Yes, the lake is beautiful, remote & peaceful - a hard combination to sometimes find in Jersey.

Correct, no launch or ramp. Have to carry your BB & gear in along a wooded trail ~100 yards long.
Lonely? Never, when you are with a good friend & surrounded by God’s creations, also helps when the fish cooperate & go after the fly you’ve tied on!

Thanks f’yaker!
It’s a very portable & stealthy way to get on the pond when I don’t have the time nor energy to “hump” the ‘yak into the back of my truck.
