Hoping to share fishing info with fellow fishermen in the Carolina, Kure, and Wrightsville Beach nearshore and offshore area.
I've lived in CB since 2018, I earned my Captains license in 2020 and started my own weekend charter fishing business. I like sharing fishing tactics and techniques. I've always believed in helping other fishermen catch more fish because that's how I learned over the years from fishing with my Dad in freshwater and saltwater and talking to other people with the passion for fishing that we have.

What I can tell you for this week is we're trolling and catching Spanish just off the beach and hitting size 0 and 1 silver Clark spoons at 15 to 18 feet in 25 to 30 feet of water.
We're catching schoolly size Kings 10 to 15 miles out over wrecks, trolling with dead cigar minnows with pink skirts. Red and Vermilion Snapper 20 miles out in 80 to 90 feet of water on ledges with cut bait on 8/0 hooks. Water temp is up to 72° onshore and 73.5° 25 miles out.
I have a charter this Saturday, so I will update this info. I look forward to sharing fishing tips with everyone and hearing your fishing stories.

Hey Mike - I'm a native of the area but new to Carolina Beach. I have always fished Wrightsville and north, so I'm a bit lost fishing Carolina Beach. I'm interestred in upgrading my inshore game and continue trolling for spanish and kings. No longer interested in going six miles off shore so hope the kings move in soon. Work is not the obstacle to fishing it used to be, now it's the wind :). Anxious to hear and share info with you.

Welcome aboard SWF, yes the wind has been crazy, my boat's in the shop right now, so I'm out of the action, won't be long before the king's come Inshore, Mahi too in middle of summer, much closer to reach them. These gas prices hurt, so I won't be running to far except once in a while. I wish you a great season, awesome fall(weather permitting) , stay safe. 🦈
