Thanks again Ryan for taking this on and running with it, great job and a good time had by all! The “lonely lady” story is pretty cool and can’t wait to see the post of your boat and the compliments you’re going to get, it’ll be truly inspiring for those of us that own and work on their boats.
Thanks Denny, weather aside,I think we all had fun,I’ll do it again next year, hopefully we will get even more stagers to make the M&G
I’ll post up some pics of the Redneck Yacht
Guys, I don't even know how to communicate my disappointment with the fishing. I was so looking forward to Clear Lake being the fishery that it is for everyone to enjoy. I had visions of taking pairs of anglers out for four hour trips and returning with fish catching smiles. I was sure someone would catch a 6+ lber for biggest fish. We got served a raw deal with the weather. Yesterday I returned to Clear Lake and experienced what should have been going on (normally) when we were there. The am water temp was 69 peaking at around 72 in the afternoon. Bass were on beds everywhere I went. In all my life I have never seen so many bass in one day. 5,6, 7, & 8 lb bass just cruising around ignoring every lure thrown at them! Lol. I did catch 10 or so off beds, sometimes quite by accident. They got laid out on my tourney board and quickly released back to their business. My best 5? 1/17 inch, 1/18 inch and 3/19 inch. I'm sure that weighed it would have been very close to my PB 5 fish limit. Wish you all could have been with me as I was thinking about you often yesterday. Time for a nap. Need to rest these old bones that will return to Clear Lake at 5:00am tomorrow!

Yup... one factor we can't control for sure. Last year, work and boat repairs kept me off the water until the last day. When I heard how the fishing was, I knew my experience would have helped. So, I was disappointed to not have that opportunity this year. The kicker is that I consider Clear Lake my home lake. I was expecting the kind of fishing (based on the date of the M&G) that would motivate Stagers all across the Nation to add it as a destination on their bucket list. I'd love to see our M&G grow and provide a memorable fishing trip for all. For now, I'll just keep learning and sharpening my skills to share next year. BTW, the weather here this year is unlike any I can remember. The next 10 days are forecast with highs in the mid and low 80's. Typical March, early April weather! Lol
