Our magnificent state government finally figured out that there is now enough water in the state to fill DVL back up.
Really, you think?? In a MAJOR announcement yesterday, they have stated that the lake will be filled back up to capacity over the next few months. What does this mean for fishing? Long term will be great. Not sure about short term. In talking about it with other fishermen, we kind of agree it will not be good for quite a while. The spawn has just started, and the fish are starting to move into the shallows. Now, if you start dumping water in at a fairly rapid pace, what will it do to the fish? As many of you know DVL is the premiere fishing lake in SoCal, as well as being the largest reservoir. Oh well, it is a start and if messes up the spawn we will have to live with it. It's a start

Only lake down here that I know has Smallmouth is DVL, largest was just over 5lbs. Probably going there next Wednesday to give it a shot and see what level looks like.
