Check to be sure it is not closed for algae bloom. It was last fall.
If the lake is open, I troll a size 8 olive with black body wooly bugger. If no hits, I add a bead and one inch chartreuse smile blade in front of the fly. I troll at .8 to 1.2 mph or rowing speed. depth from 1 foot to 10 foot adjusting with split shot 20 inches up the line. Good luck.
Yes, the lake is open year round. You will need a discover pass, as it is in the state park.
I have a small boat, and troll a wicked lure (a spinner type lure), or power bait. I was there 2 weeks ago, and only caught one, the water was still very cold, and the fish lethargic. Once the weather warms, and they stock the lake by the end of April, the fishing is great.
If you have no boat, they just built a brand new fishing dock this past winter which is very nice. Try power bait or nightcrawlers off the dock or shore.
