Tough day for Crappie, but ended up catching this 20 lb blue cat which made our day. I caught it using a 12 ft ACC crappie rod with 8 lb test and a #2 hook. It took a little over 10 minutes to land it. Of course our crappie net barely fit over its head, but it was enough to land it. The livescope did not show this fish on the bottom I guess due to the rough water or some kind of turbulence on the bottom of the lake. I still can't believe we landed it on the setup I was using. For once I had my drag set correctly.

Fredfish, Thanks for replying. While we were disappointed we didn't get on the Crappie this ole blue made it a memorable trip.

Whitey, The stars happened to align that day. Unfortunately most days they break off and your always left wondering what kind of fish was on the other end.

Bapabear, Agreed. We were super excited and in disbelief. You would think we caught our first fish (haha).

Thank you sir. It was probably a once in a lifetime catch. Especially if I move back to 4 lb test.
