DEVOTION #14
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”
Last week we talked about “the measure of faith” we are given by God to fulfill our roles as believers, while on earth. For the next two weeks, we’ll be talking about how we, as believers, can use that faith to make a difference in those who we come in contact with - whether it be in our country, our town, our family, at our job or school, or just with our fishing buddies. We are not limited to JUST those who happen to “run in the same circles” as we do, (maybe I’m the only one who runs in circles 🤪) but that’s a great start!
We know that when we take a stand for those things we believe to be true, and according to the Bible,
ARE true, not everyone will agree, or even listen.
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”John 8:31-32 NLT
When Jesus was praying to His Father for His Disciples, in John 17, He also included us in His prayer, in verse 20.
“Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth. “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.” John 17:17-20 NLT
Just as sure as we know there will be opposition to this “stand” we take, we also know that truth and trust in God WILL win out in the end.
“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:9-14 NLT

The video message today (and next week) is by Pastor Allen Jackson and will show examples of how a few great men of the Bible, effectively demonstrated their faith, while completing their God-given assignments.
God bless y’all! 🙏🏻
