Hey this is Thorpe
Basically looking for fresh water fishing information and knowledge. I'm a novice fisherman at best, I have two teenage sons looking to get out there have some fun with my boys. I'm located at California's central coast. Any input would be great! Thanks

Live minnows under a float will catch about anything that swims. I'm from TN so no help on locations but live bait should put some fish in your basket.

The foothill lakes, Comanche, Amador and Pardee all have good shore fishing access for trout.The trout farm adjacent to lake Comanche can be fun fishing for your boys. Use verious colors of power bait and mouse tails or night crawlers. There are a lot of how to videos on Utube that can provide great info. Keep in mind that a lot of our lakes are pretty muddled up right now due to all the rain which can make fishing a little tough.
Lake McClure is another good choice. Hope this helps. Some of my best times is fishing with kids. Be patient and enjoy it👍👍👍👍

Hey Thorpe, welcome to ‘the stage’! You have quite a few nice lakes near you. Nacimiento, Lopez, Santa margarita all offer good bass fishing and some great camping. Good link: Lake Nacimiento
