There's alot of stream trout lakes in northern mn. Maybe a phn call to local fisheries would point you in the right direction. There should be some that aren't over run with golden shiners yet. good luck

Welcome to the Stage Gravedigger, This can be found on the Minnesota DNR site. I found 35 streams in the north country. If you search, you can find a stream near you. Or you can travel to the North shore, lots of rivers to fish there.

The MN DNR has 2 different sites. One is Lakefinder and the other is for streams and there may be a third for trout lakes. If you call the DNR they will direct you to the sites to get your information. I use the Lakefinder and the information is phenomenal! Good luck young man! Go catch a bunch. You might consider trying Lakes for everything from Sunnie's up to northerns.
