Fishing vest, but doesn’t carry much gear.
Backpack with boxes partitioned to carry lures, hooks, etc. Both are hand free so you can cast and walk around fish.

I bought a folding wagon from Dicks with big beach wheels. It holds a tacklebox, a bucket, cooler, rods, umbrella, etc. Was lugging just the bucket, box and rods. This is great! My grandson and I often walk miles to fish.

I use an old pull along golf bag caddy with a cooler strapped on and a couple sand spurs for rod holders when i use more than one rod and just a soft bag with plastic tackle organizers and a long strap when i walk the beach and just take what i need for my target species . and just smile !

After reading the responses to the question I feel real bad for answering. The lakes where I live, and a lot of the streams. are so accessible that I only use my truck to carry my gear as I can park where I want to fish.

I use a Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon backpack for normal shore fishing. I use a Maxpedition Proteus fanny pack for my fly fishing stuff. Backpack works well and keeps your hands free for other stuff.

I frequently use sling packs when working shorelines. The long single strap is easy to wear and the bag will carry most everything you need for your targeted species. They are typically very light and can be taken off if you choose with no difficulty. Easy on the budget.

I’m 57. Never carried a backpack but I watched my 16 year old put one on and he had everything he needed and he went wherever he wanted with ease. They hold 3 or 4 trays and a lot of tools. Now I use one. Never fished with so little effort. Now I have a few slimmed down versions of a real backpack that holds less but is targeted for certain species. It’s a nice option and cost next to nothing.

Hello. If you go to Amazon.com and put in "fishing bags" it will come up with fishing bags backpack and you get a huge array of different styles. I like the ones that have a place for four Plano tackle boxes and the opportunity to tie on my rod(s) to one side and my folding three legged stool on the other. Most are priced from $50 to $100.

I use a little red wagon to carry my tackle box, cooler, lawn chair, etc.
I carry two rods in my hand.

Bought the wagon at walmart and it's been my handiest hunting/fishing tool for years.
