Use minnows! My brother and I caught a live well full of bass, crappie, and a few other stragglers. we actually had to throw some bass back because we didn't have room.

We were there last week and caught three crappie and two catfish from the bank by the boat ramp

Caught 2 keeper crappie, 2 nice but small bass n bream waiting to check in Tuesday from bank. Wednesday too windy, Thursday kept 14 crappie, a catfish and 2 bass, yesterday kept 11 crappie and a catfish. Threw back half dozen bass, couple of bream and catfish. All caught on various grubs- no luck with minnows. Still have till Monday. Hopefully weather will cooperate.

Very nice and good luck with your fishing adventures. Hopefully we can get back out there sometime this week, watching the weather and making sure I'm not fighting something. It's either bad allergies or I'm coming down with something.
We've never been to Brown Lake in Barnwell but it's closer so we might check it out. Was told there's good catfishing there.
