I fish Bayou Black, and Amelia this time of year. Also fish the spillway when the water is favorable. We are having a heck of a time finding any Sacs. The other fishermen we talk to on the water are saying the same. We generally fish weekly. I hope others in our area are not experiencing this. Looks like other areas in the country are having a blast…

If the fish haven’t started to spawn yet, when can we expect it to occur?

What has been your experience lately?

Thanks,
Dan Ayo

Out here in Northern California the water is still high, muddy and cold. I'm sure it's bout that time of year for them to get ready for their spawn but they're not gonna be easy to find with these water conditions.
Maybe when the water warms a little more.

Deadly Dan: Sorry, I can't help you, but where ever they are, they aren't hungry. They know their territory and follow the food around. Maybe they don't get all they want at every meal, but they aren't starving.

They eat minnows, and other small fish. If you can find those, you will very likely find your fish. Just Sayin....RJS

I found some in the basin. Big Alabama, but only one 'tower' of fish. Lots of schooling bass, water is still a bit cold to start their spawning. No one is catching that I hear.

Been having the same rotten luck in the same general area Deadly Dan, only a little luck a few weeks ago in a little canal off of the intercoastal canal down in Larose a few weeks back, couple of Bass and a few Bluegill, no Sacs though.

There's a guy I work with that seems like he loads half a Yeti down with em in Larose. I talked to him yesterday, said he's going in a little canal at the back of Hamilton Street with shiners about 2 feet under the cork.
