just read this on a Seattle news site.

"King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) said it needs $11.8 billion to solve homelessness over the next five years. ... At the same time, agency leadership has the audacity to offer unlimited vacation to undeserving staffers "

wonder why the homelessness problem is getting worse while the money being spent on it is skyrocketing? The money is going to things like "unlimited vacation" for staffers. I worked for the wrong place I should have worked for a place where I could get unlimited paid vacation, what was I thinking? of course back then nothing like this was offered but maybe I should come out of retirement and just go on an unlimited paid vacation what do you think

So they want to spend 11.8 BILLION dollars over the next five years to solve homelessness.
Anyone want to take a bet on whether after all of that, homelessness will be worse than it is now?
....anyone??

the track record has been the more they spend the worse it has gotten but the mind set is we just need to spend more. Was was the definition of insanity? something like doing the same thing and expecting different results?

Place is going into the gutter. We work all our life and do without and after many years working, sometimes both adults in the family, we retire so we can enjoy life a little before we PAY for our own burial and here comes the government to legally steal (TAX) from you and give to someone else. I remember my Dad (who was a blue collar Mill worker) saying, I work my butt off, I don't smoke, I don't sit in a bar drinking, I don't see why I can't spend a little money on some fishing or hunting gear. Instead of buying a river sled, He went over to the next town and looked at someone else's boat and went and bought some 16' Marine plywood and built his own sled. It worked great. He bought a 50 Horse Merc with a jet pump. We were Steelhead fishing in it when he had his last Heart attack. I raced down river and got him to the little podunk hospital, but he didn't make it past midnight. He was doing what he loved when he had his last one and only got to enjoy TWO YEARS OF RETIREMENT!. Now we seem to have so many, who could work, with their hand out. I don't mean those like two friends we have who have MS and had gone thru many VERY PAINFUL surgeries.

Kerry I agree most of us don't mind helping those who honestly are trying but can't make or on there owns but drunks, drug addicts and the lazy need to sober up, clean up and take responsibility for their own life. sounds heartless but for these individuals the best thing for them is to reach rock bottom to get to the point where they are willing to do what it takes to turn things around. enabling them by allowing them to live, and do drugs and all sorts of bad things on the street is bad for them and bad for society at large
