I’m fishing a tournament Saturday on a ray Robert’s. Could anyone give me some tips?
1 should we fish west or east?
2 how do I find the creek beds?
3 any other advise would be much appreciated
4 my husband and I are fishing against our co workers. We didn’t do well last year. I am wanting to absorb as much as I can about catching bass. I’m the only girl in the tournament. Please help!

All : You've got a couple of days to * do your homework * B/4 the event. It took me about 3 minutes to get what you will need and there's much more available for no cost to you. I did a Lake Ray Roberts Bing search and found all kinds of maps, the best of which was FISHMAP.ORG , that shows creek entry points for Hog, Spring, Jordan, Scott, Hackley, and other creeks. From there you should be able to follow the beds into the main body of water with your electronics. It all depends on how thoroughly you look, and where your launch area is.
Good Luck .

I couldn't agree more. That was what I was goin to suggest without actually lookin it up myself.
You have to be pro active yourself. ALL the info you need is available online.
Just look it up and study which ones are goin to help you the most and print them off if need be.
I'm not very computer literate, as the guys here know, but I can at least GOOGLE things.

Well saw, She's a new user, so I cut her some slack. Many of us have tried to explain before that this is NOT a search engine, but the site itself presents a somewhat ambiguous description to the new users. Yeah, sometimes I'll do a little handholding once or twice, but that's about it. What makes me nutz is when long time participants here are too lazy to do their own research. You know, the one sentence demands and inquiries. Grrrrrr.
I was employed in the electronics field for 49 years, with experience in industrial controls, instrumentation, lasers & robotics but never had much time or interest in consumer electronics, so I'm basically useless when it comes to personal computing or smartphones and the like. Can't even figure out Facebook ! Once I retired, I abandoned technical stuff, and got interested in history, humanities, and comparative religion among other things. Just got tired of having to try to stay ahead of the curve.

Thanks ALL.
I will definitely take note of all responses.
I have been on that internet a great deal.
It is time consuming. but somehow I enjoy it.
I have even started looking at the behavior of the bass and more. Pretty interesting.
I guess I must apologize for ya'll thinking I was using this as a search engine.
Just wanted to get some tips from fisherman that have the knowledge to hand down to a newbie like me.
Thanks for the website.

Well, If I lived around there and fished that lake I would be more than happy to share my knowledge of the lake. However, I'm in California and fish the waters of the northern state.
Good luck with your search and the tournament. Post some pics for us too.

Also check tpwd fishing reports also...
You want a chartreuse & white chatterbait trailer with a white split tail grub, a black & blue jig with blue tailed hog craw, some dark colored senkos, I'd through either a mid depth red crank bait or 1/2 Oz rattletrap...but that's just me...and it os spring (spawning time)
Tight lines

I start off EAM with a topwater (pop r, spook, etc) in water with cover like stumps, laydowns etc. in generally 10 feet depth. When that approach dies down, switch to spinner baits, chatter baits etc. Then either a square billed crankbait or go to senko's like watermelon red flake or June bug. Early, I cover as much territory as I can, then with the plastics, slow, slow down. Just my nickel's worth without knowing what kind of gear you have.

All this is VERY good advice. Those are some of the same techniques I would use. All of them should work or at least a very good place to start.

Well. Fished the tournament Saturday at Ray Robert’s. Wow was it cold. Started at 36 degrees, wind around 15 mph had to stay in coves creeks. Tough. Neither of us caught anything. We have around 15 teams. Just about all of us had a tough day. One guy an 11 pounder. So jealous. We used poppers rattles spinners worms Ned’s.
We will get them next month. We will be on Lake Fork.

That's too bad. What was the 11 pounder caught on?
