My brother in law and I caught our limit of trout today
Caught them on corn yellow power bait tipped with a mealworm.
He and my sister in law are in from Mississippi and he wanted to trout fish so I took him to one of our local lakes and he had some fun. Just got them filet and going to fry them for our supper.
Nice catching Mike, looks like some good trout fishing weather

How does that work? Did he have to buy a non- resident fishing license.just curious. Heading that way later this year.if so what does a non resident license cost? Or is it required?

I found this S a w.
A non-resident will pay between $3.00 for a one-day license and $37.00 for an annual license. Fishing stamps will also need to be obtained.

Thanks for the info. We are heading to that area on our annual cross country motorcycle ride this year. A great part of our trip is fishing different areas along the way. Heard great things about the trout fishing in your state. If u could point out some good fishing in your area it would be appreciated. We travel lite with limited gear. Love to target trout. Thanks in advance!

they are several other rivers and streams in the mountains that are stocked weekly. Next month ( April ) they will do the gold rush stocking. They will stock 30,000 gold trout in the lakes and streams with some gold ones over 10 lbs. they also stock some tiger trout along with the gold ones.
In my area they are some lakes
Mountwood park lake near Parkersburg thatβs where we fished today. They is one in ripley wv Rollins lake. And one in ravenswood wv. turkey run lake. My pick is mountwood. In the mountains they are several streams that they stock every week. ShΓ€ffer fork , gandy river. Glady river. These are located along route 33. A very nice drive through the mountain. Spruce knob lake is also accessible from 33 itβs on the tallest mountain in the state. if you sight see it is a great place and good roads. Elkins wv is along the route and has places to stay and several restaurants.
