North Carolina Fishing

I have a fly rod I’ve had for years. I was wondering if I should use it while fishing the inter coastal waters of North Carolina . Or would this be mistake especially if I hooked into a big red. It’s a pretty old pole with no markings. It looks to be made of wood with a veneer coating.

If you currently use it for fresh water it's probably a 7W or less. wouldn't be much help fishing salt.

Thanks. Maybe I should just sell it (probably not worth much) being that I don’t fresh water
fish anymore

What weight rod is recomended for ICW and Maui fishing. Any ideas of reels, line types and backing lines. Thanks for feed back.

I thought this forum was good for feed back and info, I guess i was wrong. I could understand if asking for fishing spots, but for gear and tackle info and no feedback that sucks. I reckon this is a clicky forum of just inter circle members. Sad day to be called SPORTMEN! Tight Lines
