Hi Jimi,
Do you do any Striper fishing in the Forebay.
My Dad used to go there or the D Dam 2-3 times per week.
We’ve caught nice stripers out of the Forebay.
My Dad was a paving Contractor out of Merced and he loved to fish.
He took all four of us boys fishing and his Grandson’s. My pop left behind quite a fishing Legacy. We all love it.
I plan on fishing LosBanos as soon as the weather calms down a little. I doubt you can even get on San Luis Resevoir
It gets like the ocean and they shut it down.

Great times, great memories and fantastic pics! You’ll make a lot of friends here posting those!!
Kinda shy away from the “big lake”, don’t own a boat (yet!) and hear too many reports of the various algae blooms that are dangerous to kids, pets, etc. plus makes the catch at least sound inedible and I like the option to eat em. But I know the forebay is really popular and productive I just don’t do well catching and releasing.
I love the “little” lake on Los Banos creek. For a couple bucks you can catch a good variety of lots of panfish and occasionally a trout or two. Favorite is to go there when the bass are spawning and you can catch fish on about every cast!
Nice to meet you as a fellow LB guy, and thanks for the post. Let’s get catchin!!

Yeah we caught a lot of trout on the little lake trolling wedding rings.
The aqueduct it goid for Striper at night
But rattle snakes are out in the warm weather.
We wrapped anchovies in nylons because the Striper will hit hard and steal the bait.
