Hi all,
I am new to fishing. I have been fishing now for a little bit over 4 weeks and this has truly become a therapy for me.
I just love it so much, I do not even care if I catch a fish or not...
What a great hobby! I can’t wait to become good at it!
Anyway, thank you for all your posts, tips and ideas... They do help newbies like me a lot.

You know what a lot of people miss. Fishing is to let your thoughts, your soul, your brain, and your heart heal by spending time with what God has given us. Fishing is very therapeutic and catching fish is a bonus of the enjoyment spent doing it.

I work in a high stress environment as the Clinic Administrator in a program where we are on the front lines of confronting the opioid crisis we face not only in the United States but around the world. The time I spend fishing keeps me from needing to find a counselor of my own. After a busy day dealing with State and Federal entities, my staff, and the patients we serve, nothing helps me unwind like a few hours in my little boat, all by myself, away from the rest of the world, fishing. I have my own pond that is far away from anything and anyone else. There’s nothing visible from my pond except the woods that surrounds it, and it is far enough away from civilization that the only sound I hear while fishing is what God provides through nature. I totally agree that another word for fishing is therapy!

To all that see, hear and feel what God has given us in nature, his presence. May God bless you all.He is there, listen, he is listening.

Take time to go fishing when you can. Time spent doing something you love is time well spent. Each time out is time to learn something new. Try something different each time is a way to learn. Soon you will learn what works best for you and that builds confidence. Good luck and have fun!

Buckeye thank you for the work you do. The Opioid crisis is well what can I say, way beyond any drug crisis that we could imagine. Thanks you for working on the front lines of this. I work for a company that is not in the front lines but in the background trying to identify the patterns that lead to this horrible addiction and help providers intervene earlier to avert addiction, but you have the most important job of all on the front line. Yes I too find escaping on a early morning to a cold river at sunrise and fishing for trout. A world created millions of years ago by a force way beyond our imagination. Peace be with you.
