My names Jack and online it’s AlumaJack.
I’m a retired trucker and enjoyed fishing lakes rivers and the salt since I was a youngun. I was away from the NW for a bit but am back, modifying a nice old 73 Klamath 14’ and getting my gear in order.
Seems like there is pretty good current information here. I’ll take any tips for all species in Lake Roosevelt. Ok, expand that to the Columbia in general and the Spokane as well.
Jack Out.

After the forest fires burn out, Roosevelt is a wonderful fishery. We recently fished out of Two Rivers and caught smallmouth bass, walleye, and some nice size trout. There are lots of methods you might use, but I tie my own spinner rigs and we did well on those by adding a night crawler and trolling in 15-25 feet of water. We trolled fairly slow (about 1 mph), but vary our speed up and down a bit to give the bait more action. We seemed to do best using a "Slow Death" hook, that causes the worm to slowly spin, which entices the bite. Don't be afraid to try various crank baits there also. There are a lot of different species to target in Roosevelt. As far as fishing the Spokane River, I'd suggest a visit to Silver Bow fly shop in the Valley. They have up to date info on fishing the Spokane as well as Northern Idaho rivers that aren't too far of a drive.
I might suggest looking at another fishing site "Eastern Washington Fishing". There is some good info on that site as well, and it's focused on areas that we enjoy fishing here in Eastern Washington. Good Luck and tight lines!
