Thanks Whitey. It caused quite a lot of damage but Iโ€™ve not heard if anyone died because of it. Homes and buildings can be replaced.

I thought Iโ€™d post about the tornados yesterday and let yโ€™all know we were very blessed. About two oโ€™clock I was upstairs with my dog and it began pouring down, then the winds came. My wife was at our church in a meeting. They were hunkered down too. The winds began howling so me and my dog went downstairs and hunkered in the guest bathroom. The tornado was starting to sound like a train coming and I knew we were going to be in deep do do. But then it began sounding faint but still howling. We were in there about 30 minutes, then no noise except for sirens constantly going north of me. The tornados hit about a half mile from me. My wife and I think there were two or three tornados because of the damage a half mile west and north of us. We did lose power for thirteen hours but no damage and no harm to us or our property. We were very blessed.

Sounds like a close one. I've been through a few back when I lived in Texas. People who never been through one or seen the damage up close and personal don't know how lucky they are not to experience one.
So glad to hear that y'all are alright and that you had no damage. Also thankful there were no fatalities.

Dang, I am glad you are safe and that I don't have to contend with that part of Mother nature. What do most people have for roofs down your way that the wind doesn't lift off. It would probably pluck tiles like I have sitting on my roof.

Hacksaw: glad you and your wife made it through with out getting hit. Sorry for your neighbors down the road hopefully everyone survived building can be rebuilt but love ones can't be replaced, it has got to be scary being hunkered down hearing one of those twisters coming toward you like a freight train knowing there is nothing you can do but take cover and pray you make it through. stay safe and good for your church helping those that got struck.

Glad all are ok. We had one a number 3 tornado 2 blocks from our house a few years ago on Christmas day. It sounded like a 747 landing in my yard. We were outside, before we could get in it was over. Destroyed a school and alot of homes.
