Anyone have advice on a good place to bank fish in San Antonio, TX area? I have tried many town lakes and have never had even a nibble. I like to both fly fish and spin casting. Thanks, Bob Stevens

My son and grandsons spent a few hours at Lake Braunig this fall and found some redfish. Easy to find, nice facilities and bank fishing opportunities. I’m sure they have the typical freshwater species to target also. If you’re new to redfish, you’ll enjoy catching some. They eat almost any bait, live or dead, and if you’re a lure man, start with spoons, soft plastic swim baits. Good luck

Best part of this trip, the boy set his rod down and went to the tackle box. Came back, rod’s gone. Luckily, it was a shallow flat, and he waded until he stepped on the reel 10 yds from the shore, no fish, but at least he got his rig back

canyon lake, will be a bit tougher during the winter and the fact that it is 10 1/2' down. but closest proximity to s.a. would be canyon lake. lake lbj is on fire right now, but bank fishing I'm not aware of where you could go. get someone to take you to choke in late February or March. monsters will come out to play including the gators. good luck.
