Hello. My name is Rick and my wife and I live in Olathe, Ks. We have been looking for somewhere close to call our
‘Get Away’. We are looking to find an air b and b or a cabin to rent, rent a pontoon and do a little fishing. We look forward to see what we can find.

Grew up in Kansas, in Emporia until age 15, then moved to become your neighbor in Lenexa and went to Baker U. in Baldwin City, then to metro KC, until I moved here to Ashland Oregon in '84. Sorry to have no suggestions for you very near you, but could certainly steer you to several pristine lakes out here,
some with pontoon rentals, most all with sweet campgrounds &/or cabins....about a 2000 mile(one way)road trip, but absolutely worth it.
Closer to home (for you),I would agree Clinton, Pomona, maybe a short-ish drive down to the "Strip Pits" near Pittsburgh, or just a bit further across the state line to Tablerock, Bagnell(sp?) Dam or the White River.
If you're after bass, bluegill and channel cats, get to know some folks with farm ponds, probably 90% of my fishing for the first 30 years was in ponds.
