Why I always put out a line with a spoon or Yozuri behind the boat as I slowly drive out to the river from the Cape Coral canals! Hard fighting jacks are plentiful.

I am in the habit of that as well, but not in Florida!

Nice catch Dad. If you have to run @ no wake speed anyway, might as well drag a line or two. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure, I just kissed it on the head and sent it back. Felt like 10-15. It was about 24".

Nice fish and photo. I have only been exposed to jacks once. What a blast. Can you tell me why Jacks are looked down on by so many fishermen. Even on TV it seems to be a disappointment when the host find they are hooked up to a Jack. I know they are not good eating, but neither are bone fish or tarpon. Your input is appreciated. Thanks

That TV chef/personality Andrew Zimmern caught and ate them. Said they were decent as did a couple of guys who he fished with. Previously neither of them had eaten them.
I intend to try next month in the Keys as I get plenty down there.
