Hi I am Bob Rodriguez and live in Ponchatoula.I am a 73 yr. old disabled vet and love to fish and would like some help on where to fish and best baits to use. I launch ay the lake in madisonville any help and pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Aside from the causeway and the Hwy 11 bridge, try along the north shore. I assume you're coming out of the Tchefuncte river. Depending on the wind, the shoreline to the east should have trout and redfish especially around structure such as piers. Check the link below. It may have some more information for you. Good luck.

Welcome to the stage, neighbor. Did you check on the F&G website? They have some manmade reefs in the lake, and they place their location on their site. Good luck.

Hello! I am also 73 and disabled Vet. I live in central Florida now but lived several years in Belle Chase LA. I used to have good luck with Red Fish, trout and flounder in Adam's Bay area and Venice in the passes. If you go close off shore to the old (not active) oil rigs. There is great fishing there for Red Snapper, Triple Tail, Black drum and cobra to name a few. I loved living and fishing in South Louisiana. Much better than Florida.
