43° when I got to the lake. You can only fish the East shore, and unfortunately it's in the shade of the mountains till around 11am. It definitely felt colder especially with the North wind blowing down the lake. Missed 2 decent bites due to the wind bowing the line, one on a Dinger and one on a Paca Craw on a Shaky head. Took a break to wait for the sun to hit the shoreline. Lost a good fish on a June Bug Dinger, then switched to a Green Pumpkin. Finally set the hook in a decent fish. 2lb 6oz. After that the wind shifted again, from the west, and was blowing straight in my face so I called it. I never realized that they lowered the lake this much in the winter. The bank where the treeline starts is the normal high waterline.
Nice fish Fred ,that water looks really clear. What was the water temperature?
Nice fish... A lot of work & patience, but we know you have tons of that... Did it ever get warmer?

Thanks Mike. Yeah it's one of the clearest lakes around here. I didn't have my portable thermometer with me, but I'd guess around 45°or so. No signs of ice anywhere, unlike the ponds near my area.

Thanks Devan. The numb fingers earlier, wears down my patience, especially when I'm missing bites. A good hookset makes me forget all about it though. Once the Sun hit the shoreline, it felt warmer, except for the windchill. It was 51° when I got in my truck about 1:30.
Thanks. I was just south of the pier.

That’s a nice bass, Fred!
Good job, buddy!
Where did you say, a little while back, that you got those dingers in the 100-pack? I found some from Amazon for
$26.29; not sure if that was a sale price or regular, but Myrna said today they have green pumpkin flake for $21.56 /100. She is ordering me a bag right now. ($23.23 incl. tax) Your taxes may be more…. but still a GOOD price.

Thanks Randy. I've only seen the 100 bags on Amazon, but some of the Tackle places might have them. The 30 bags are available at a lot of places, BPS, Tackle Warehouse, Dicks, etc. $26 is normal for 100, but $21 is outstanding !
I'll be stocking up for sure.
