This is Monterey from Brant Beach,

I like surf fishing and have been moderately successful this summer and fall with Fluke and Blue fish catches.
I also like Black Fish but have had no success in getting a keeper 15". Lots of small stuff.

Now I"m ready for the Stripers, but looks like they are still a bit north around Island Beach State Park ready

to make their way to LBI. Has anyone had any good experiences lately ?

Today I will plan to head to the inlet and try it for a few hours.

There were a few caught yesterday. Your best shot is the school's on peanut bunker schools that are staging for the run south. Find a hole and throw a chunk of bunker.

Thanks for the reply. I should have gone to my regular spot in Brant Beach and tried some bunker.
Instead I was scared away by the wind and local bait shop who said not many stripers were reported
being snagged.
Oh well - I'll look ahead to the next week and try then.

Thanks for the welcome. I struck out today, but will look forward to the next few weeks for the stripers to
move south towards AC.

I'll be down there Monday. I'll probably fish somewhere in Surf City or North Beach. If you see a black Tahoe on the beach stop by and say hello. I worrk out of the LBI fishing club in Harvey Cedars. Might even be there fir sundown on Sunday.

I will try to make it. I usually go to Brant Beach 37Street where there is a nice hole.
I have never fished Harvey Cedars or Surf City. Is there a particular street where
there is a good hole.
What are You bringing - Bunker/Clam ? Hi-Lo ?

Just seems to me like the last couple of years once the stripers hit the inlet south of IBSP they turn southeast and don’t hit the LBI beaches like they do the beaches north of there ?? Is it just me ?

That has been a pattern in recent years although there have been a good number of quality fish caught off of the LBI beaches.

Welcome aboard Monterey. I fish your area a lot. Recent west winds brought bunker schools and stripers close to the beach in Seaside and Island beach and a few were caught on LBI. I would hit the northern end beaches and stay mobile looking for schools of bait. Evenings are productive Throwing bucktails and plugs.

I fished Brant Beach last week. One day birds were working about a quarter mile out. I fished sunset with artificial with no luck. I’m hitting it hard in next few weeks.
