Hey fellow Stagers. My buddy George(stage name: the bus) and I are heading up to Rio Vista on the Sacramento River on Sunday for some striper fishing for 4 days. This will be my first multi day trip in over a year. It was a year ago last week that I under went surgery for prostrate cancer which was followed by 39 doses of radiation treatment which I completed several weeks ago. The good news is I am now cancer free! It made for a great thanksgiving for my family. Thank God for answering our prayers 🙏. With that said , I can’t tell u how excited I am for our up coming trip. I’ve cleaned and organized my tackle, checked my rods, lubed my reels and respolled several with 30# braid. I’ve packed all my cold weather clothes and checked my rain gear. Even bought a new reel. Also spent a day helping George get his boat ready. Installed new rod holders along with a new Aerator pump for the live bait well. I don’t think that I will be able to sleep well the next two nites, I’m so excited!!!! I will post our daily results hopefully with some nice pics. I’m driving my wife crazy due to my anticipation. She said I need to chill and suggested we spend the evening doing a jigsaw puzzle. Are you kidding me! I think I’ll have a glass of milk a piece of pie and try to fall asleep, if I can. Hey Rich, I'm gonna try to come meet y'all Monday mornin spend the night and fish Tuesday mornin. Maybe leave bout noon for Windsor.
I think Ben will bring his car and go back Monday.

Best of luck to you guys s a w. And most of all congrats beating the cancer. Accomplishments like that deserve the best of getting away for awhile and just enjoy why you are out there. Take it all in and hopefully the bonus of Catching will be bestowed upon all of you.

We will get there about 10:30-11am on Sunday. Gonna start the morning jiggling at the bridge. If it’s hot we will stay in that area through the tide. Then move up river toward George’s favorite sloughs throw swim baits. By the time u arrive on Monday we should have good feel on what’s working. On Monday we will be at the ramp by 7am let’s try to meet up there at 7am.

I believe you. Bait fishin can be great but it's usually slower fishin than throwin lures.
