Tryptophan

Is it really a little Tryptophan that makes us fall asleep after the Thanksgiving feast? There may be other factors that help us fall asleep such as:

Getting up early to start the day.
Already tired and sore back from all the previous days preparation.
Playing with kids whether it be with your kids, grandchildren, or somebody else's children.
Drinking a little too much.
Using up your energy to get and eat more than usual.
Staring at the TV after you ate and/or drank too much.
Constantly avoiding that relative you don't want to talk to.
Wishing it was over.
Wishing they would leave.
Wishing they would all leave.

Some don't get to have any of that. But understand your discomfort.

Even if we go to our daughter's house as we did last year, my wife does more than half the work. That's why I prefer to be home. As the earlier posts said, we could make it simpler.

I miss having a full house. Mom had 4 siblings, Dad had 6. House was always full of happy, loving family. Never any fights. Never. I was youngest of my family and now all uncles and aunts gone, only one brother left and he's in nursing home. Gets lonely sometimes. Really glad I have you folks!!!
