Problem is it is mainly catch and release, and not much catch and eat. Mercury levels in the food chain from historical mining practices make eating much of your catch a bit problematical. And recent experience is unless you have a boat to get out to the very deepest parts of the lake you won't have much luck. The water temp right now is crazy high, so bank fishing is basically an excercise in patience. A lot of patience. Talked to many fishermen and bait shops over the last couple of months, and everyone I've talked to report lousy fishing right now. When the water temps drop a bit the fishing is awesome. Crappie, blue gill, different flavors of bass, trout, salmon, and other critters show up on stringers. Can't wait for the water level to get high enough to use Cappel Cove to launch my kayak from, because that whole area is both productive and fun for a day of fishing
Every drop of water every breath we take down to it’s all bad some way or another facts are we now have technology to see this stuff around us. Every micro organism has its. Own micro organism. I’ve always been C&R person only because I don’t want to kill anything then eat it. Bad enough we play games with it by dragging against its will for the sport. IS WHAT IT IS.

Not to jerk your chain, but fish is delicious when orepared well
Yes it is I’m just really not the killing type, it saddens me when I see people taking anger out on fish then just toss aside. When I was in my teens I caught so many fish my mother made me stop there was no room in freezer. This is at lake chabot. I mainly play with sting rays for the fight. Caught a shovel nose a month ago under bay bridge 4ft long first ever for me
