I think you should mark them some how to see if you catch the same ones again. There are many ez non harmful ways to mark em.

I know people who love them, just have to learn to work around the bones. I am sure its like any other fish makes a big different's in the body of water they are in. One of these days going to try one and let you know. Pass the catsup and mustard please.
