Can anyone tell me if there is a specific tide that leans toward better fishing results for flounder and trout?

Well, according to a Shakespeare character, Tide and Time wait for no man! You will have to do some research on the subject. I live too far away to have any idea about the correct answer to your question, which should be quite interesting. Just Sayin...RJS

Generally speaking For back bays and inlets, the ideal times are 1 hr before high tide and the first two hrs on the outgoing tide. I have had days when the outgoing stayed good until slack tide. We drift for flounder so there are times when the drift is too fast. Slack tide has no drift at all, so not many fish are caught until the tide changes. I have fished incoming tide and caught fish for hrs, other times can’t find one.

Tides with a tidal coefficient in the 40s, usually calm with slow movement
