Listening with the intent to understand rather than to reply is an art that seems to be cultivated by only a very few.

Yes, something I've learned in my small "Covid circle" that I think is very important. If a "friend" is sharing something that's bothering them or hurting them, Listen until your speaker is finished and respond about their circumstance. Don't listen until you can get your two cents in or already thinking about what you're going to say back. Try very hard to not answer with "Well, I, unless asked.
Just sharing my own experiences not going for a "shrinkdom"

Kandy, well said. I've always felt that listening is a good sign one is paying attention.

Not just hearing what is being spoken.

Wisdom is demonstrated by saying less and listening more. When you keep your mouth shut, people will probably assume that you are a wise individual. When you begin talking it will prove you aren't so wise after all. Just Sayin...RJS
