Found this guy drinking from my sprinklers this morning after watching him work over my roses.
There were three of them about the same age. I wonder if they are the same three who visited my flowers last summer as spikes.

Here in the mountains it's been in the nineties but recently the monsoon rains are showing up in the afternoon and cooling off to the seventies.

I would bet they are. Our young elk go from spikes at a year to 4 and 5 points the following year. Their small bodies with short points indicate they’re young bulls.

That’s pretty cool Jim, we’ve got lots of whitetails and some monster elk out in northwestern Pa. for which they have a limited lottery draw. I’ve been in the pool for 18 years and gathered quite a few preference points but so far no go. Just can’t imagine elk walking down the street.
