How big is big? You gotta jig the bottom for big lakers if you want the big ones. They’re like a ling cod and hunt from down under.
My, personal, opinion is you’re not gonna find lakers in Wyoming any bigger than the hogs in Flaming Gorge and I was born and raised in Wyoming. I still go there once in a while but I’m not sure how you define a “big laker”. We’ve caught em over 30 pounds there but always way deep. Are you fishing the bottom. I use a tube jig in a smoke or silver color with red and silver sparkles and a 5 ounce weight. I make my own tube jigs but you gotta have the weight to get down to em. My jigs are 6 to 8 inches long with 3 to 5 inch tails.
