I have seen numerous adds for Kastking saltwater spinning reels. They sound good. Maybe to good for the price. Has anyone purchased one. If so what is your opinion of it. Please no theoretical opinions. I am looking for hands on opinions. Thanks. I want to know if they are trash, or just temporarily low priced to get into the market, like Lew's used to be.

Hey Bapa. My experience with the brand was not good. After having 2 awesome rods n reels go diving off the back of a boat a few years back, I was not in a financial position to replace em. KastKing was described with good wording, so I bit. Keep in mind this is a brand-only commentary as I was replacing a casting reel, not spinning. Only took one trip out to learn that cheaper price came with cheaper performance. Thankfully I was able to return it. That's my 2 bits, bud. And I've not found anything comparable to Lew's. Love that brand. Good luck!
I don't own one but a friend of mine does. He fishes tournaments with it. I looked at them myself, I decided on the 'Pascifun' combo. Never had a problem with it so far. Both KK and Pas make the casting, and spinning reels also have fly rods and reels. I've used the braided line from them also, not as good as the 'power pro'.
Familiar with the off the back of the boat routine. I had a brand new that day Lew's 400 on a month old 13's rod. They repose on the lake bottom in 8 feet of water
Might have to start taking along a mask, fins and snorkel on those fishing trips!

Mine hit where it hurt. One of the rods was a cherished Berkley Series One. I looked for months trying to find a replacement, even asked Berkley to check their back closets for a stray as the rod was discontinued. Extensive search, trial and error brought me back to Berkley, where I've grown to love their 6' Lightning Rod. And their service is top notch.

If they're only in 8 feet of water seems like you could get em back.
I've retrieved several from the lake. From 8 to 35 feet deep. We lost one in bout 70 feet of water but that one we never got back.

Huh uh. Middle of Stockton Lake. Likely 50+'. 😔
I have 4 KK product , two spinning reels and two casting reels . Keeping in mind , I generally use Shimano reels and Loomis RNX a rods , I know top quality equipment . I found KK products to be functional and a bargain . They are not top quality but your not paying top dollar , you get what you pay for . That said , I found them to be reliable and well worth the money . On a reduced budget , I could use their products on a full time basis and be well served .

Hey TRB. Bobber said it was only in 8 feet of water.
Y'know, Saw, they were in 8' of water, with an extra 42' on top of that for good measure. 😜

I just sent a private message to another member about Kastking reels as we talked about them before…i found the lower priced one i bought lasted exactly one season…the higher priced one is buttery smooth still and is one of my favorite reels….by higher price i mean under $200 so its still a bargain compared to the top shelf reels.
You must understand that the Gheenoe overturned sending two of us into the water. I got a rough estimation of the location of the mishap and once tried to locate the gear with good Garmin and Hummingbird finders--to no avail. Now have two #14 weighted treble hooks I'm going to try once the wind lets up here in Ocala

I did that once with one treble hook, and got two rods and reels. I was in about 6'.
