Not a cat fisher myself but saw my first one a few weeks ago. Was amazed as I didn't know they existed.

I think they were misunderstanding as I looked it up I read one story of collector's paying $6,000 to $7,000 each but how would you even contact a buyer? Before it would die on you. Maybe a SeaWorld aquarium or something like that where they could keep it something like that alive for a long time so I don't know I'm not even sure I'd want to go to the hassle of trying to find a buyer one they're so rarely caught I mean it's been years since I caught one albino.

Put 80 of them and 400 regular channel cats in my pond a year and a half ago. Haven't caught any albino's yet but I see them swimming around the pond so I know at some point I will get one. They sell them through our county soil and water conservation district here locally at their semi annual fish sales.

Maybe Cabela's or Bass Pro shops would want one for their tank?

I have caught so many(albino Channel Cats) I won't dare even venture a guess at an actual number...

Back some years ago when I ran the Aquatics Department of a local pet store. They were quite a popular seller back in those days. I think they are still able to be found, but with much more effort than before. I think people finally figured out there isn't much you can do in a home aquarium with a voracious predator that will continue to eat and outgrow most any enclosure short of a small swimming pool or pond. One of those things that was hot for a while, then faded quickly into the memory bank for reasons that are not all that pleasant. I will say they were definitely a hardy fish that could endure some real unsavory conditions many other species would not have survived in. Best to leave the care and rearing of Channel Catfish to Mother Nature, unless you've got an appropriately sized water feature like "MAS fish" appears to have.
