The Tennessee river and it's lakes have good large mouth, Small mouth and Kentucky spot fishing. Try Dale Gallow, lake Boone

I only know a few areas of NJ and less of Tenn. But from what i read on here you have made a wise decision when it comes to enjoying fishing. No salt but a lot of fresh water spots.

Scroll up to the user section on this page and click on that. You will see find by location section and type in Tennessee. That will bring up users in that state and many may have where they are located in Tennessee as well. From there you can send them a PM for local info.

Best of luck to you in your new home and hope to see some pics how it is out your way.

Welcome Birddog to FS. What part of NE TN do you live in? I'm in Strawberry Plains, about 20 minutes north of Knoxville. If you can give us your exact location, I can help with some suggestions.

Hey Birdog, welcome to the stage.
The best LM fishing is Douglas lake for numbers and good size. Cherokee lake is also good, maybe a better average size and good SM too. South Houston is known for its SM too. Boone Lake should have a boom after re-filling after years at river pool. Wataga is known to produce giant walleyes and lake trout. Good fishing almost anywhere in north east Tennessee

You have plenty of options for fishing around the Tri-Cities. Douglas and Cherokee Lakes would be a bit of a drive for you. Lakes and rivers close to you. Check with a local bait shop based on your preferences. All kinds of choices for fish in your area too.

Go by Watsons they can hook you up with what you need also talk to Rex or one of the young boys there. They are great people and very helpful. We are blessed to have so many places to fish here. Yes our lakes are deep but you don't have to fish very deep to catch them totally depends on the time of year around here as to where they are. I keep a ned rig tied on all year long. Go to YouTube and watch some Ned rig fishing to get some ideas on using it. Again the guys at Watsons will point you in the right direction.
